CoinGape reported Meta-Anthropic $10 billion computing deal as prelude to Anthropic's anticipated public offering, signaling structured partnerships de-risking exits.

Amid rising anticipation about an Anthropic IPO, Meta Platforms is discussing a computing power lease with Anthropic worth up to $10 billion over two years, according to a Reuters report citing The New York Times. The development reinforces expectations that the AI company could become one of the most closely watched public listings in the technology sector.

The proposal originated from Anthropic in June, and Meta is currently reviewing the terms. If finalized, Anthropic would make monthly payments throughout the agreement, with both companies retaining the option to terminate the contract before the full term expires. The potential partnership would benefit both sides: Anthropic would gain access to the massive computing resources required to develop advanced AI models, while Meta could unlock a new revenue stream from its growing infrastructure investments instead of relying primarily on digital advertising.

This move would position Meta in more direct competition with infrastructure providers such as CoreWeave and Nebius. It comes as demand for AI computing capacity continues to surge across the industry.

According to Bloomberg, Anthropic is preparing for a possible public listing, with banks leading the offering arranging meetings between the AI firm's executives and potential investors. These discussions represent a significant step toward a potential IPO that could arrive as early as October. If the listing proceeds on that timeline, Anthropic could reach public markets ahead of OpenAI, which is reportedly targeting a 2027 debut, and ahead of Chinese AI developer DeepSeek, which is also preparing for an eventual stock market listing.

Recent developments underscore Anthropic's infrastructure expansion. The company signed a 20-year data center lease agreement with Bitcoin miner TeraWulf earlier this month, expected to strengthen the computing infrastructure needed to support future AI development. Additionally, Anthropic received US government approval last month to restore access to its Mythos 5 artificial intelligence model for selected businesses and federal agencies.
